Matt has been fishing since he was a toddler and was always the first one up and out on the lake. His passion for fishing and sharing the experiences made while on the water are what led him to become a guide. Those experiences have taken him all over the world to learn new and different techniques to be successful in what he does, from the lakes of the Midwest and Canada to coastal waters and the tropics of Costa Rica. Through it all, what he's found that what makes fishing special are the friends you make while holding a rod and real. Matt has been fortunate that he has been taught to fish the Leech Lake area by some of the most knowledgeable guides around including Bobby Landreville of South Shore Guide Service. Whether it is a wet and windy day or a flat, calm and sunny broiler, you will have a good time in the boat and memories will be made. Matt Specializes in Muskie fishing.
My dad bought me my first fishing boat when I was six years old, a 14 foot Alumacraft with a 2 1/2 horse Johnson. It's been tough to get me off the water ever since. I grew up fishing the Leech Lake area on summer vacations, and 5 years ago I moved to the area to chase Leech Lake walleyes full time. Marble eyes are my favorite, but I like to mix in some panfish and pike action as well. As a trained coach and outdoor educator I pride myself on helping people, young and old, learn the skills and tactics they need to become better anglers. Catching fish is important, but I also focus on having a good time and learning something from the lake. Those are the memories that last!
